Care guide & questions

Soap flowers ask almost nothing of you. Here is the short version, and then everything people actually write in to ask.

Out of direct sun

Bright rooms are fine. A windowsill in full afternoon sun will fade the colour over a few months.

Away from water

No vase, no misting, no bathroom shelf. Steam and humidity are the only real enemies.

Dust occasionally

A soft dry brush every few weeks. Never a damp cloth — that will melt the surface of the petals.

Frequently asked

Everything else

If your question isn't here, email Sharon — it's a small business, you'll get a real answer.

That is glycerin, and it is the single most-asked question we get. Glycerin is a natural humectant — it draws a small amount of moisture out of the air and holds it at the surface of the soap. The result is a faint dewy sheen that reads to the eye as a flower cut an hour ago after rain. It is completely normal, it is a sign the soap is good quality rather than dried out, and it does not drip, run or mark the surface underneath.

Still not sure about something?

Ask before you order rather than after. Sharon would much rather talk you out of the wrong bouquet than remake it.
